School Tutor Partners place the upmost importance on safeguarding the young people we work with. All tutors are qualified teachers who are on the update services, enabling partners schools to carry out the necessary DBS checks. When tutors begin working with a new school, we request that the school provide the specific safeguarding policies, contact information and and wherever possible undertake the safeguarding training provided to other full time staff at the partner school.
The statuary guidance for safeguarding can be found at the government website or by clicking here. The current Prevent strategy can be found here.
Tutors work on a one-to-one basis with students within school or in their home setting. We request that tutors work with students in a viable working environment in which another member of staff or parent is in close proximity. Ideal locations for tutoring have been in staffed school libraries while in school while in a home setting a parent should always be close at hand.
